Snowflakes fall gently to kiss the earth,
And they land on a little girl with messy hair.
Her eyes bright, wild and excited,
and a smile spread across her face like roads on a roadmap,
going from one state to another.
Happy, was the girl with the tangled hair,
with a voice sweet like a songbird.
But beautiful things do not last forever,
and she was no exception to this rule.
Because soon she was teased for her hair,
and she tamed the wild beast that once lived atop her head.
And her eyes became dull and empty,
no longer did she see a reason to smile so wide,
because her roadmap of a smile never seemed o get her anywhere.
